How much luggage can fit in an SUV
A picture is worth a thousand words! On the trip shown above, our SUV carried four passengers, four full-size suitcases, and four small to medium pieces of luggage.
To make room for the bags, the third-row seats were folded down. One passenger sat next to the driver, and the other three sat in the second row.
That seating arrangement matters. Using the third row for passengers leaves less space for luggage, so be sure to share both your passenger count and your bag count when booking. The photo shows what fit on this particular trip; suitcase sizes and shapes can change how much room you need.
How much luggage can fit in a sedan
A sedan can accommodate two suitcases and one or two carry-on bags. It’s a practical choice when you’re traveling light and don’t need the additional cargo space of an SUV.
